Hotsling Everyday Collection Baby Sling Review

fter having my first (and only at this point) child, I really wanted to try a sling since I am all for baby wearing. I kept coming across Hotslings and decided to try one. They come in super fun colors and patterns and they seemed like something to try! Being a deal seeker, I found mine on ebay and figured I had nothing to lose. I ended up buying a basic black sling from the Everyday Collection. Here are my pros and cons for the Hotsling baby sling:
Hotslings Everyday Collection Black Baby Sling

Pros

-comes with a video and easy to follow directions on how to wear it

-it worked great for carrying my baby on my hip

- I didn't feel any pain from carrying my baby

-folds up small so I can fit it in my diaper bag or purse!

- My baby didn't mind it at all!

-come in a variety of patterns and colors, as well as reversible and organic versions

-not one size fits all, so it fits wonderfully if you get the proper size. Sizing charts can be found on the Hotslings Web site.

Cons
-it takes awhile to figure out how to wear it

- It is a little difficult to get baby in without help. Once you get it figured out, it isn't too bad.

-doesn’t adjust to carry baby on your back

-not one size fits all, so you can't always share them with friends

I never used it to cradle carry my baby as I have read horror stories about babies suffocating from this position. Plus, by the time I got the sling, my baby was strong enough to sit up in the sling and didn't want to lie down. The sling is recommended for babies 8lbs to 35lbs so it should be good for awhile. Overall, I am very pleased with my sling and it does a great job for its purpose!
